Who are The SAGE Boys?!
The Unsung Heroes of Black Canyon City
If you’ve lived in Black Canyon City long enough, you’ve probably heard the name “The Sage Boys.”
Maybe you’ve seen them setting up an event, helping a family in need, or quietly fixing something around town without ever asking for applause.
But if you’ve ever wondered who they are — and what they do — here’s the answer:
They are a group of men dedicated to building other men up and lifting our entire community through service, compassion, and hard work.
The Sage Boys don’t have an agenda. They don’t seek praise. They don’t wait to be asked.
They show up — again and again — because they love this town and the people in it.

What Do the Sage Boys Do?
Their work touches almost every corner of our community, often without most of us ever knowing it. The Sage Boys:
👻 Create the beloved annual Halloween Haunted House that brings joy and chills to families every year
🎅 Build and run the magical Santa’s House at High Desert Park — a Christmas tradition that kids look forward to all year
🔧 Provide trade scholarships to support local youth building skills and careers
💙 Raise funds for families experiencing tragedy, such as house fires or unexpected hardships
🛠 Step in quietly and powerfully whenever someone needs help — often before anyone even asks
🤝 Support local businesses and strengthen community projects with both donations and hands-on labor
🎉 Organize fun, family-friendly fundraisers and events like the Run for Fun and the Adult Spelling Bee
These men volunteer countless hours without expecting anything in return.
To them, community isn’t an event — it’s a commitment.
Why Their Work Matters
The Sage Boys represent the heart of Black Canyon City.
They show us what happens when good people unite and take pride in where they live.
They:
Prove that small towns can make big impacts
Teach our youth by example
Turn hard times into moments of hope
Build traditions that bring families together
Make our town not just a place — but a community
Black Canyon City is stronger, safer, kinder, and more connected because of them.
A Community That’s Better Because They Care
The Sage Boys don’t do what they do for attention or recognition.
They do it because:
People matter
Families matter
Tradition matters
Building strong men matters
Helping others matters
They are community, brotherhood, leadership, and generosity — all rolled into one.
Black Canyon City is a better place because of The Sage Boys.
And we are proud to stand behind them, support them, and celebrate the good they bring to every corner of our town.
